2011 First Night Boston
One day at first night
As usual we went to help GBCCA for the First Night Parade. Besides taking pictures in the parade this year I tried two new things which are taking pictures of the GBCCA Art and craft booth inside Hynes Convention and played drum in the parade. I was so glad to see that the art and craft booth was crowd with people meaning that public did aware of the organization and our existence!
We, the drum, the dragon and lion dance, and many other of us practiced hard inside the Hynes in order to get prepared for the parade. Everybody was so participating and we had a lot of fun. The temperature was great (above 30 degree!) and the parade went very well and smooth.
After the parade, I got to take some pictures of the fireworks just next to Boston Common. While we were leaving for dinner (I just wanted to leave downtown and went somewhere else because there were too many people there) we found a parking spot that near Berklee. Since we had the First Night buttons we got to participate any First Night events we want for free so we went to two concerts, one was Lionel Loueke Trio at Berklee Performance Center, and next one was Bettye LaVette at Symphony Hall. Both concerts were absolutely outstanding! We were so glad that we decided to take that parking spot and went to the concerts first. We totally forgot we were hungry because we were completely falling into they performing.
We finally had our last dinner of 2010 at Pizza Uno near New England Conservatory at some time past 9pm. Shin-Yi liked the place very much because it was very warm. When you are tired, hungry, and stay outside (in the winter) for a long time you feel cold, right! So there is nothing better than to dine at a warm restaurant! She had seafood and I had steak they were delicious! We then went home to see the countdown with our Television. Nice and sweet! Happy New Year!!
